Residents enjoy joy-filled sing-along with special guest

RESIDENTS and staff at HC-One’s Avon Court in Chippenham were treated to an afternoon of music, movement and memory-making as the care home hosted a sing-along session with Miss Lynne M Brown, better known by her stage name Amber.

The home was alive with the sound of music as residents clapped, swayed and sang along to an uplifting selection of songs, from old-time classics to well-known favourites.

The event is part of Avon Court’s regular activity programme, which aims to enhance residents’ wellbeing through engaging, person-centred experiences.

Amber, a familiar face at the home, is known for her warm energy and ability to get everyone involved. Her performance was met with smiles, applause and plenty of dancing.

Home manager Mitchelo Kalengo said: “We love nothing more than a good sing-along and dance at Avon Court.

“It’s heartwarming to see our residents light up when they hear songs that bring back wonderful memories. Amber always brings such joy to the home; it was another fantastic afternoon.”

The event also sparked meaningful moments for residents living with dementia, as music has been shown to support memory recall and emotional connection. Several residents were seen mouthing lyrics and tapping along in time to the rhythm, clearly uplifted by the familiar melodies.
