RESIDENTS at HC-One’s Stoneleigh Care Home in Annfield Plain, Stanley, enjoyed a special New Year treat as the home hosted a pop-up clothing sale, bringing the shopping experience directly to residents.
The temporary clothes shop gave residents the chance to browse and buy a wide selection of clothing, with a variety of styles, colours and sizes available.
Residents were able to take their time looking through the items, supporting personal choice and independence in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Home manager Susan Dodds said: “It was wonderful to see how much our residents enjoyed the clothing sale. Activities like this are about so much more than shopping – they support independence, choice and social interaction, while also bringing back happy memories.
“Seeing residents chatting, laughing and helping one another made it a really special morning for everyone.”
The event sparked plenty of smiles and conversation, with residents helping one another choose outfits, sharing opinions and chatting about their favourite pieces.
By bringing the shop into the home, the activity was made more accessible for residents while also recreating a familiar pastime many fondly remembered.
Stoneleigh Care Home regularly hosts activities that support residents’ wellbeing, independence and social connection, ensuring there is always something enjoyable to look forward to.
