RESIDENTS at St Helens Hall were treated to a morning of music thanks to a moving performance by the Phoenix Choir.
The choir brought beautiful tunes, which filled the Sanstone Care operated home, and brought plenty of pleasure.
Residents and staff were moved by the performance, which included folk songs, musical theatre songs, standard popular numbers, and well-known hymns, bringing back fond memories for residents.
Amanda Clark, manager of St Helens Hall, said: “A big thank you to the Phoenix Choir for such a lovely morning.
“Our residents thoroughly enjoyed their singing. It was a real treat and brightened everyone’s day, many of our residents couldn’t resist joining in, singing along with smiles on their faces.”
The visit from the choir was part of a wider programme of activities for the residents. As part of the same week of entertaining events, the home also hosted a ‘Cinema Day’, transforming one of their lounges into a cosy theatre.
Residents enjoyed musical films Annie and Mamma Mia, complete with popcorn and soft drinks to enhance the experience. The musical theme was a hit, with residents enjoying tunes they hadn’t heard in some time.
