ELEVEN determined staff members and one brave resident from Collisdene Care Centre in Strathaven are scaling the heights of Tinto Hill.
Known locally as the ‘Hill of Fire’, Tinto stands at 2,333 feet, making it one of Lanarkshire’s most prominent natural landmarks.
The challenge will see the Collisdene team aim for the summit, referred to as “Tinto Tap,” in a bid to raise funds for resident-led projects within their care centre.
The challenge reflects the spirit and sense of fun shared by the Collisdene team. They won’t be alone either, as their colleagues from the care centre will gather at the base of Tinto Hill to cheer them on and welcome them back with refreshments and support.
The residents of Collisdene will be waiting at the care centre for the climbers triumphant return when the celebration party will get underway.
Activities coordinator Rosie Brennan said: “This challenge represents the commitment the team has to raise funds so we can provide extra special opportunities for our residents, which creates more fun, joy, purpose, adventure and connection for our residents.”
