RESIDENTS of Oake Meadows Care Home in Taunton were treated to an unforgettable experience when they welcomed a group of reptilian visitors including corn snakes, turtles of various sizes, chameleons, and a bearded dragon.
The visit provided a rare and exciting opportunity for the residents to interact with these amazing creatures and gain an educational experience.
Residents learned about the lives of these reptiles, their natural habitats, and unique behaviours. For many, it was their first time handling such creatures.
Katrina Ball, manager of Oake Meadows, said: “The residents thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Many were initially hesitant to hold the corn snake, thinking it would be slimy, but they were pleasantly surprised to find how dry it was.
“There was plenty of fascination and laughter throughout the session, and I’m incredibly grateful to the staff and reptiles of Phelsuma Farm near Taunton for making this special visit possible.”
