Team create immersive Traitors experience for residents

RESIDENTS at Parkfield Grange in Stourbridge are taking part in their own live action version of The Traitors.

Over the course of 10 days, residents will be involved in missions, round table discussions and lots of playful suspicion. The game builds towards a final on Friday, January 23 – the same day as the BBC One series finale.

Home admissions advisor Emily Hocking said: “We wanted to capture the interactive suspense and fun of the BBC show. Creating an activity to run over 10 days gives our residents time to become fully immersed in this game of observation and memory.

“The care home is buzzing with intrigue, with conversations about suspicions and more formal dialogue around the round table – which in our case is oval.”

The idea came from residents of the Cinnamon Care Collection operated care home during a wellbeing forum, with activities designed to be inclusive and social.

These comprise scavenger hunts, where residents solve puzzles and riddles, as well as taste-based challenges using dishes created by the in-hose catering team and observation games set around the care home.

Unlike the BBC version, nobody is excluded from the game. Residents who are eliminated do not leave play, instead they become ‘Guardians of the Game’, gaining an extra role helping to spot traitors.

The winning team who remains in active play will be given an afternoon tea for themselves and two guests in the home’s private dining room.
