Team take to the skies in aid of charity

THREE courageous fundraisers, including two team members from Bluebird Care Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell, completed a 10,000ft skydive, raising £1,363 for the Alzheimer’s Society to help support individuals and families affected by dementia.

Pauline McDermott, Ehtesham Khan and Pauline’s partner Mick took part in the tandem jump at GoSkydive in Salisbury.

For Pauline, the sky dive was the realisation of a personal ambition.

“I honestly don’t have the words to describe what an amazing experience it was,” she said.

“Doing the jump with my colleague Ehtesham and my partner Mick made it even more special.

“We support people living with dementia every day in our professional lives and have also cared for loved ones affected by the condition. I feel privileged to have taken on this challenge and so grateful for the support and donations we’ve received.”

The skydive was the final challenge in the franchise’s latest wave of fundraising activity, which has included a charity coffee morning, bake sales and a large-scale community event – all in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
