Tinga  shortlisted for Community Unsung Hero Award

HOMECARE provider Nexus Care Services is celebrating managing director Tinga Umera’s shortlisting in the Community Unsung Hero category at the Multicultural Business and Community Champion Awards.

Tinga’s nomination was built on his work supporting the community both as a leader in social care, via Nexus Care Services support, and his dedication to several local charities.

Earlier this year he raised more than £3,000 for the Cardiac Risk in the Young charity when he ran the Wolverhampton 10K.

Tinga also participated in the 10K Peak District’s Big Hike in support of Cancer Research and participated in The Race Against Dementia by climbing the Wrekin in Telford at the start of 2024.

He has also helped to drive Nexus Care Services’ ongoing support of Birmingham’s memory walk and has pushed initiatives, such as Nexus Events, which are delivering innovative new ways of helping people that require care to get out and about to enjoy new activities.

Tinga must now face a public vote, which will decide the final shortlist. Voting ends on Wednesday, August 7 before the final awards night on November 30.
