Village to help make a difference this Shrove Tuesday

RESIDENTS at Richmond Villages Nantwich will be treated to a pancake party this Shrove Tuesday as part of a collective donation effort for Nantwich Foodbank.

The retirement village will be hosting the event at 2:30pm, with both residents and staff bringing essential items to donate to the charity in exchange for a pancake.

Those within the village have been encouraged to help make a difference to people’s lives by raising awareness and support through their donations.

Activities manager Jane Ann Stubbs said: “Our villagers and staff are passionate about supporting the foodbank because they understand the difficult times that people are facing.

“It’s truly fantastic to see our residents and staff coming together to raise awareness and provide for those in our area who really need it.

“We have a fantastic community spirit here in Nantwich, and to have that reinforced for such a great cause speaks volumes about the generosity amongst those in the village.”

This is just one of many events put on by the premium retirement estate in support of the Nantwich Foodbank, with harvest and Christmas donations conducted for a number of years.

The village has also helped to provide essential food items to the Nantwich Foodbank during school holidays, when families who need it require even further support.

Nantwich Foodbank is a charity that helps local people in crisis, which last year provided more than 36,000 meals to those in need in the area.
