CARRINGTON Court care home in Hindley, Wigan celebrated the graduation of its first Registered Nursing Associates trained as part of the continuous development programmes on offer at HC-One.
The operator provides nursing apprenticeships, with the aim to develop staff from carers to registered nurses. The Nursing Associate Apprenticeship is a means of training to become a graduate registered nurse or nursing associate through an apprenticeship route for people expressing a desire to complete the Registered Nurse Degree top up programme and progress in their careers.
The programme enables people to work at the same time, which provides the apprentice with the same standards as other traditional student nurses.
Deputy manager Amie Kirwan, registered nursing associate Anna Meredith and unit manager Clare Donnelly celebrated after completing a two-year foundation degree apprenticeship with the University of Salford.
Lizzy Hutton, senior nurse – clinical and practice development specialist, said: “Through university and practice placements our colleagues have brought a wealth of knowledge back to Carrington Court, becoming skilled clinical regulated practitioners. I would like to extend a huge congratulations to Amie, Anna and Clare.”
To mark the career milestone, colleagues were presented with gifts and flowers from home manager Rebecca Asprey and area director Anthony Byrne. Staff and residents in the home and from the Clinical and Practice Development team at HC-One joined in the celebration
