THE team at Hartford Care’s The Laurels and Pine Lodge care home in Poole is asking people from around the world to send in birthday cards to its resident, Grace, who will turn 103 on May 19.
The home will host a police themed party for Grace’s birthday, as her husband was a police officer, and is hoping she will receive as many cards as possible to help her enjoy her special day as one of the operator’s oldest residents. Birthday cards can be sent to: Grace, The Laurels and Pine Lodge, 33-37 Foxholes Road, Oakdale, Poole, Dorset, BH15 3NA.
Claudia Cullen, home manager at The Laurels and Pine Lodge, said: “Grace has been living with us for over eight years, so she’s a huge part of our home.
“She loves being in the lounge and chatting with the other residents and staff and is a stickler for reading her daily newspapers. We really hope we’re able to surprise Grace with lots of cards on her birthday.”
Hartford Care’s ethos is ‘Creating Caring Communities’; its philosophy of care is underpinned by creating communities that are friendly, kind and welcoming of everyone, caring for each other and celebrating individuality by recognising that everyone needs something different to thrive.
