Home launches card appeal for resident’s 100th birthday

A WILTSHIRE care home has launched a social media appeal in the hope of receiving 100 birthday cards for their resident, Alice.

Wanting to make the 100th birthday as memorable as possible for Alice in early March, Flowers Manor started the appeal on Facebook on January 10.

The reception on social media has been positive, with many of the public pledging to send cards over the next month. Some cards have already started being delivered, with 96 cards to go.

The team at Flower’s Manor are encouraging people to either hand deliver them to the lifestyle team or post them to the following address before March 1st.

Head of lifestyle Rachel Gittins said: “We always want to make the birthdays of our residents as memorable as possible, and with this one being especially significant, we decided to launch the appeal so we could give our resident 100 birthday cards on the morning of her birthday.

“We’ve already started having some delivered and the feedback on Facebook has been amazing. We can’t wait to see the look on her face when we give her the cards.”
