Home welcomes Alzheimer’s Society for special community talk

COMMUNITY members in Stoke Bardolph gathered at Rivendell View care home, where a volunteer from the Alzheimer’s Society delivered an informative session on how to live well with a diagnosis of dementia.

The session included various activities to help people better understand the effects of the condition, and how people who live with it can remain as independent as possible.

Tom Clifford, the volunteer who led the session, said, ‘I am really pleased to be able to deliver this training to support more people with dementia to ‘live well’. Thank you to Rivendell View for inviting me into your lovely home.’

Lisa Tungate, the Home Manager at Rivendell View, added, ‘It was wonderful to welcome Tom to Rivendell View, who gave a lot of valuable insight to our community around how to support people with dementia.

‘As a care home and a community, the Alzheimer’s Society is very close to our hearts. We care for our residents who live with dementia with kindness and respect, and to be able to offer others a better understanding of how we do that is very important.’
