SCHOOL children brought some festive cheer to residents by singing a host of Christmas songs and enjoying a snowball fight.
Pupils from Whiteley Primary School visited the residents at Encore Care Home’s Hamble Heights care home in Fareham to perform a host of festive favourites while donning Santa, elf and reindeer hats for the residents to sing and dance along to.
Afterwards, to whoops and cheers from the kids, the residents started an indoor snowball fight with the children using soft toy snowballs, which saw the home filled with shrieks of laughter.
The children then chatted to the residents about what they had been learning about at school in lessons, what they were looking forward to over the festive season, and what they had put on their lists to Father Christmas.
The choir was just one activity in a whole calendar of festive activities planned by Hamble’s wellbeing team in the lead up to the big day. Other activities include Christmas crafts, writing letters to Santa, making gingerbread cookies, quizzes, Christmas bingo, Christmas door gonks, Christmas keep fit, mince pies and Christmas wreaths.
